TOPIC: The biomedical/clinical engineer’s role in patient safety

Description: 

The Presentation will cover:

  1. The Biomed/Clinical Engineer’s role in patient safety

  2. Review Biomed Responsibilities

  3. Describe a BMET/Clinical Engineer typical day

  4. Provide additional examples of medical devices

  5. Why is it important to report problems with medical devices?

  6. The future of medical device reporting

  7. Detect signals from the logs in your Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

FOOD: Food and Refreshments will be supplied by Curbell Medical.

FACILITY: Saint Joseph Mercy Canton

The Canton location has limited seating so if we have more than 30 RSVPs then the meeting may be moved to St Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor.

There is no cost for this program, and no cancellation fee.  The US Food and Drug Administration/CDRH/OSB/DPSP, as a provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP 16323, grants 1.25 contact hours of Continuing Education credit for this program. Please fill out the evaluation form and return it to medsun@fda.hhs.gov by July 14, 2018 (one month after the program) to receive a CE certificate from FDA’s MedSun Program.
