Kenya Relief requires an Anesthesia trained Biomed Technician

My name is Elizabeth Studley and I am a nurse anesthetist at Mott Children’s Hospital and Henry Ford Detroit. I am about to lead my seventeenth surgical mission trip to Kenya through KenyaRelief.org from March 15-22, 2018. The team is full of twenty seven surgeons and nurses from Henry Ford and U of M.

We have sixteen more surgical teams (two UM/HFH teams and one Wm. Beaumont team) in 2018 that need to use these machines while KR tries to find newer machines. Each team usually performs 50-70 surgeries.

We are in desperate need to have an anesthesia trained biomed person join our team. We have one spot left on our team that leaves the evening of Thursday, March 15 and returns the next Thursday by 4 p.m. it is five weekdays missed from work and I am willing to pay for the flight and all meals and lodging.

Kenya Relief just completed a Biomedical shop with $30,000 worth of tools secured by TriMedx. They hired a Kenyan man last week who trained in Biomed but he is not familiar with these anesthesia machines yet.

If there was someone interested and they wanted to stay two more days (and come home on Sunday, March 25th) for a five star safari with the rest of the team, that option is available.

I have to skip safari this trip to go to a school conference at CMU and wanted to offer them the opportunity to travel with me if they can’t take six days off from work.

The safari portion is absolutely mind-blowing and would cost $700 for two and a half days of additional food, lodging, and game drives at the beautiful Mara Serena Gaming Resort.

Please enter your information below if you are interested or can point the way to someone that would be interested.
